Thank you for your interest in the Weight & Wellness Program at Sweet Home Family
Medicine. By clicking on this page, you have already taken a big step toward a healthier
lifestyle. That simple act demonstrates your interest and intent to take control of your health
and work toward a fitter you.
Now comes the harder part. Many of the patients that I have worked with as a Family
Physician have struggled with their weight. By the time they broach the subject with me they
have tried many varieties of diets and plans. They are frustrated and likely already suffering
some of the detrimental effects of excess weight.
Obesity is a complicated disease but it is a treatable disease. Obesity can best be managed
by a team approach. The team at Sweet Home Family Medicine will consist of myself and my
clinical staff. Experts in nutrition and fitness will be available on-site to guide and instruct. And
you will be an active participant in your care.
Entry into our Weight & Wellness program requires an initial Consultation, which consists of a
very thorough history and physical exam. Blood work and other testing will be done and a
regimen will be specifically tailored to your goals, using the best resources from a variety of
medical, nutritional and other sources. As a physician, there are tools available to me that can
maximize your success. Sweet Home Family Medicine uses the New Direction line for meal
replacement. As our program is part of a medical practice, periodic health assessments will be
set up by appointment, only.
An exercise regimen will be created specifically for you, with limitations and expectations set
by the Weight & Wellness team and you. The staff of Bodyshaping by Sandy works closely with
us to train our patients, both at our office and all across Western New York. And we work with
many other fitness facilities and organizations, many of whom have agreed to allow our patients
to enroll at significant discounts.
Lastly, we work closely with many physicians, other medical professionals and insurance
carriers. We encourage you to speak with them about meeting with us.
