Jennifer Barwell is a certified physician assistant, registered in the state of New York (RPA-C) since 2008.
Jen graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS/MS in physician assistant studies from Daemen College in 2008. She was both the valedictorian of her PA class and also the recipient of the 2008 Charles L Lumsden Award for academic excellence. Jen passed the national certification exam in June of 2008, and has worked in family practice since that time. She has been working as a physician assistant at Sweet Home Family Medicine since December 2009.
Jen is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the New York State Society of Physician Assistants and the Western New York Physician Assistant Association. She served as student director on the board of directors for the New York State Society of Physician Assistants in 2007.
Currently, in addition to working at SHFM, Jen is also a part time faculty member at Daemen College, working with PA students during the clinical phase of their education.
Jen enjoys working in family practice as this allows her the opportunity to develop lasting relationships with patients and provide care for their various medical issues, treating the patient as a “whole” person. She has special interest in working with patients to achieve their medical and weight loss goals, and is also trained in the use of BoTox cosmetic and facial fillers.
